Login Help
Getting an Invalid Authorization message or having trouble logging in? Here are some things to check:
- Get your library barcode number and EMPLID.
Note that the library barcode works for ALL library resources. The EMPLID works for SOME library resources. - What last name did you enter?
You need to enter your last name. Make sure you enter it the way it appears in MyUMUC (for example, Smith Jones). - Are you in a currently running class (or currently employed at UMUC)?

- Students: Your login will be activated one week before class begins. (Need to finish an incomplete?)
- Faculty: Your login will be activated four weeks before class begins.
- Staff: Your login will be activated when you begin employment.
- Alumni: Please see the options for alumni.
- Others: Please see the options for those who are not a current student, faculty or staff member.
- Students: Your login will be activated one week before class begins. (Need to finish an incomplete?)
- Run the Browser Check.
Run this Quick Check to make sure that your browser has cookies, Javascript, and SSL enabled. - Clear your browser's stored passwords.
These can sometimes interfere with logins. Try this if none of the above steps resolve the issue. - Last name and library barcode still do not work?
Report a login problem and a library staff member will assist you.
