Find an E-Book:
The screen shot below shows that you have selected advanced search and Electronic Resources (all). Now just enter your search terms such as business communication and click the search button. The screen below shows the search results. The search terms are shown in red. You can also see the total number of results retrieved from your search (20 records). The display is set to show records in groups of 10 if you get more than 10 hits. The next section of the tutorial, Get an E-Book: Viewing or Checking Out E-Books, will discuss how to use the catalog record to get e-books. Subject searches For a more advanced search, try searching by subject. Note the subject entries for the item shown below. The subjects are organizational learning and business enterprises
-- communication systems. By using a subject term in your search,
like organizational learning, your search would retrieve more focused
results. Using subject headings can be a useful search strategy, but try
a word/s anywhere search first if you are not familiar
with the subject headings for your topic. Click search and you will see your results. Each of the e-books in the results list deals with the subject of organizational learning. Here are some examples: The next section of this tutorial, Get an E-Book: Viewing or Checking Out E-Books, will show you how to access these e-books either remotely or from a UMUC location. |
