Journals are included in the basic search. However, the Journals
option allows you to limit your search solely to journals, newspapers,
and magazines owned by the libraries.
When searching for a journal in catalogUSMAI, begin with the full title of the journal you are looking for (e.g. Journal of Adolescence). If you are unsure of the exact title of the journal, select the word/s in title search option. Additional search options are: For example, if you wanted to see what type of journals are available relating to psychology, select the word/s in subject search option. If you wanted to check which journals affiliated in some way with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), you can search for MIT using the word/s in organization name as shown in the example below. Be careful when switching to a Journals search that you note where you are in the catalog when you perform a new search: If you want to continue searching for books and other types of materials in the catalog, you need to make sure you that are back in the main catalog: You can choose which USMAI catalog to search by selecting the option to choose another catalog from the main search menu, then select the USMAI catalog to return to searching all of the catalogs, not journals only.
