Module 1: Finding Secondary Legal Information

Legal News Articles (Part 2)

LexisNexis Academic will open. From the main LexisNexis Academic screen, you need to select a research area from the left corner of the screen.

Let us take a look at the basic search screen. At the top of the page you will see several topics on the Search tab:

• General
• News
• Legal
• Business
• People

Click News for law articles.

From the News search screen, you need to select the type of news that you want to research.. LexisNexis Academic provides access to a wealth of legal information including secondary literature sources, case law, and international legal material. Since we are interested in secondary legal information in this module, we will be searching under the News category.  In the Select Sources field, click on the drop-down box and choose Legal News Group File. We will cover Law Reviews later in this module.
