| What is a works-cited
page? |
|
The works-cited page provides complete bibliographic
information for the sources you cite in your paper so that a reader
will be able to locate your sources. To ensure the completeness
of the information on your works-cited page, when you are doing
your research, make certain that you have as much of the
following information about your resources as is available:
| Print and Electronic sources |
Electronic sources only |
|
- complete names of all the authors
- title of the article
- title of the journal
- complete date of the journal (day month and year, if given)
for popular journals
- volume and issue for scholarly journals
- page numbers
|
Subscription database
- database title
- vendor if known
- library that provided the database
- date you accessed the information
- library URL
Public access Web site
- date you accessed the information
- Web site URL
|
If you don't note all this information when you are doing your
research, it will be much more difficult to obtain when you are
writing your paper. Making up any of the above information is
academic dishonesty.
