University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers student services on Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County. The site is located on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA Release Form may be required.

Directions and Parking

Military and government ID card holders can take I-95 to Exit 85 (Route 22 East). Route 22 leads to the post gate. UMUC's Harford County Information Office is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Room 210 of Building 4305.

From Route 40 take 715 East to the post gate and visitors' center. Follow Maryland Blvd. to Susquehanna Ave. and turn right. The UMUC APG Office is located in Building 4305, which is the Janet Barr Soldier Support Center. Enter through the front doors and go to the 2nd floor, Room 210.

Advisors are available the first and third Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 410-272-8269 for an appointment at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Test Proctoring for Undergraduate Students

The UMUC office at Aberdeen Proving Ground may be able to provide an approved proctor for undergraduate online course examinations. Call 410-272-8269 for more information. After you have selected a proctor, register for your proctored exam using the online form. Any fees for approved individual proctors are your responsibility.

Other Important Information

Security and Civilian Waiver Information. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration.
