Services and Classes
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers student services at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. This site is on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA Release Form may be required.

Directions and Parking
Take the Beltway (I-495) to Exit 34 south (Route 355 Wisconsin Avenue) toward Bethesda and Washington, D.C. Use the main hospital entrance from Wisconsin Avenue. Follow South Wood Road to Palmer Road South. Turn right on Dunnell Road and continue until the intersection with Jones Bridge Road. The base service station will be on your right near a McDonald’s and the Navy Exchange complex. Building 12 sits on the hill above these buildings. Classes are held in the main hospital, Building #1, The Tower on the 3rd floor. Parking for the classes is available in Lot A, next to the hospital.
Advising
Scheduled advising appointments are available on the third Monday of each month. Call (301) 654-1377 to schedule an appointment.
Library Services
At the Adelphi Student and Faculty Services Center, UMUC librarians are available Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Room 2255. UMUC staff members are also available during selected hours at McKeldin Library at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) campus. At either location, you can access the online catalog of the University System of Maryland (USM), more than 100 databases (over 50 of which provide full text journal and newspaper articles), and tutorials on how to do research. Materials from any USM library can be delivered to you at the Student and Faculty Center, Room 2255. Other Important Information
Security and Civilian Waiver Information. If you do not have a military ID, call 301-654-1377 on Tuesdays and Thursdays for information on base entry. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online at http://www.umuc.edu/studserv/.
