Classes and Services
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers undergraduate classes and student services at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in St. Mary’s County. This site is located on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA Release Form may be required.

Directions and Parking
From Route 4 or Route 5, take Route 235 toward Patuxent River. The main gate (Gate 2) is on Route 235. Enter Gate 2 and go through a traffic light. The UMUC office is in the second building on the right in Building 1489, Room 218. Most classes are held off base in the Education Center (Building 2189).
Advising
Academic advising is available at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC) on Wednesdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. SMHEC is located at 44219 Airport Rd., Building II, Room 114, California, MD 20619.
Computer Labs
No computer facilities are available for student use.

Test Proctoring for Undergraduate Students
Exam proctoring for undergraduate students is available at no cost during regularly scheduled sessions at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center. Register for your proctored exam using the online form on MyUMUC.
Other Important Information
Security and Civilian Waiver Information. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online at http://www.umuc.edu/studserv/.
