Classes and Services
For the convenience of adults who work or live in southern Maryland, University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers undergraduate classes at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC). The SMHEC is two modern high-tech buildings, equipped with four computer laboratories, 39 classrooms, and a 500-seat multi-purpose room.

Directions and Parking
The Center is located on Airport Road, off Route 235, adjacent to the St. Mary's County Airport (about six miles north of Patuxent River Naval Air Station).
Advising
Advising sessions are available on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 301-737-2500 ext. 215 to schedule an appointment. Placement testing for Math and English is available by appointment only.
Computer Labs
No computer facilities are available for student use.
Library Services

Test Proctoring for Undergraduate Students
Exam proctoring for undergraduate students is available at no cost during regularly scheduled sessions. Register for your proctored exam using the online form by logging into MyUMUC.
