For security purposes, civilian students may be required to complete a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act release form—also known as a FERPA waiver—when receiving base access for the first time. This form gives permission for UMUC to provide information about you to the military.

UMUC is authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council and meets the requirements and minimum educational standards established for degree-granting institutions under the Degree-Granting Institutions Act. This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes UMUC to offer specific degree programs. The council may be contacted for a list of currently authorized programs.
