The institution's mission clearly defines its purpose within the
context of higher education and explains whom the institution serves
and what it intends to accomplish. The institution's stated goals and
objectives, consistent with the aspirations and expectations of higher
education, clearly specify how the institution will fulfill its
mission. The mission, goals, and objectives are developed and
recognized by the institution with its members and its governing body
and are utilized to develop and shape its programs and practices and to
evaluate its effectiveness.

mission? Does the mission clearly articulate the scope and critical
attributes of the institution, the population to be served, guiding
principles and values, and the ways in which the mission will be
accomplished?

how are they promulgated? Are the goals and objectives clearly stated,
relevant, and appropriate in light of the organization's mission?
What are specific examples that support the Self-Study conclusions
about the connections between mission, goals, and objectives? Are
there any inconsistencies among the organization's mission, goals,
and objectives and, if so, what are the plans to address this matter?
