Graduate Partnership - Information Resources Management College (IRMC)/Organizational Transformation Certificate

Programs Available: UMUC will make available to IRMC students who have successfully completed the Organization Transformations Certificate (OT) program with IRMC will earn graduate credit toward the Master of Science in Technology Management or Information Technology with the specialization in Organizational Transformation degree.

Transfer Credit Allowed: For IRMC students who have successfully completed the OT program with IRMC and who are admitted into the respective UMUC program, UMUC agrees to accept as a transfer credit the equivalent of 15 credits in satisfaction of either the Master of Science in Information Technology or Master of Science in Technology Management degrees.

The transferred credits will be accepted only as a block equivalent to the 15 credits, and are awarded to IRMC students who have successfully met all the graduation requirements and have been awarded a diploma and/or certificate. UMUC shall not accept the transfer of partial credit for any particular program under this agreement.  As part of the admissions process at UMUC, students must submit their official transcripts from IRMC and fill out the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request form.

Since 15 credits exceed the normal credit transfer limits accepted by UMUC, no other additional credits from other graduate schools for participants under this agreement will be allowed or accepted for those who transfer in these credits.

All requirements established for the completion of the degree program must be fulfilled within seven (7) consecutive years, beginning at the date the first course is completed at either UMUC or IRMC.

Program Matrix: For the completion of either the Master of Science in Technology Management Organizational Transformation or Master of Science Information Technology Organizational Transformation, students must follow the curriculum requirements below.

Core Course (15 credits):

Master of Science in Technology Management with a specialization in organizational transformation.

  • TMAN 611 – Principles of Technology Management
  • TMAN 614 – Strategic Management of Technology Innovation
  • TMAN 632 – Organizational Performance Management
  • TMAN 633 – Managing People in Technology-Based Organizations

  • TMAN 625 – Economics and Financial Analysis for Technology Mangers

Master of Science in Information Technology with a specialization in organizational transformation.

  • ITEC 610 – Information Technology Foundations
  • ITEC 620 – Information Technology Infrastructure
  • ITEC 630 – Information Systems Analysis, Modeling, and Design
  • ITEC 640 – Information Technology Project Management
  • TMAN 625 – Economics and Financial Analysis for Technology Managers

End of Program courses (6 credits)
Student must take the following two courses for their End of Program requirements:

  • PMAN 637 - Risk Management Tools and Techniques

  • PMAN 638 - Communication, Negotiation, and Conflict Resolution

Participants' Obligations:IRMC students or graduates must apply to the Master of Science in Technology Management Organizational Transformation or the Master of Science in Information Technology Organizational Transformation degree programs and meet the applicable UMUC admission criteria in effect at the time of application.

Admission of IRMC students shall be 1) in accordance with UMUC's current admission policies and procedures applicable to any student seeking graduate admission to UMUC and 2) in accordance with applicable law. (Regionally accredited baccalaureate degree with 3.5 GPA for unconditional admission).
For the purpose of evaluating applicants for admission and assessing overall grade point average of IRMC students upon graduation, IRMC grades will be evaluated by UMUC under the following guidelines:


NDU A (above average) = UMUC A (4.0)
NDU M (meets standard) = UMUC B (3.0)
NDU B (below standard) = UMUC C (2.0)



All students coming into any UMUC graduate program must take USCP 611, a noncredit Library Course with a $75 fee, within first six credit hours.

Program participants are responsible for tuition and fees. Active-duty military IRMC students are eligible for Maryland in-state graduate tuition at the current prevailing rates. Civilian IRMC students will pay the in-state or out-of-state graduate tuition rates depending on their residency status, at the prevailing rate.

Program Information: Students in either the Master of Science in Technology Management or Master of Science in Information Technology degrees will be completing 36 semester hours or 12 courses (7-8 courses with transfer credits from NDU).

A "full load" is 2 courses in fall and spring and 1 course in the abbreviated summer semester.

All courses are offered both at the Adelphi location and online. Selected courses are also offered at Shady Grove.
