At University of Maryland University College, you can receive credit for your military experience and education, prior learning, workplace learning, professional courses and industry certifications, and vocational and technical courses. You can also receive credit by exam.

Our transfer credit options can help you save money and speed up your degree. Speak with an admissions counselor for a preliminary evaluation of your transfer credits before you even apply to UMUC. After you apply, we'll do your official transfer credit evaluation. If you're an active-duty servicemember or veteran, you should request your military transcripts after applying to be sure you get the credit you deserve.

Overseas Transfer Policies

You can seamlessly transfer credits between UMUC's divisions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. But if you're starting out as a first-time student overseas, check out information about transferring credits for the first time to UMUC Asia and UMUC Europe.

I transferred 15 credits to UMUC based on my experience and training in the Army. It was a fairly easy process. My UMUC advisor showed me the paperwork I needed to do. I turned it in, and the next day, my transferred credits showed up online.
