- CIP Certification: Copyright Leadership in Higher Education, offered through the Center for Intellectual Property at UMUC, enables higher education professionals to address various copyright-related concerns on campus such as: ownership of distance education course materials; fair use, e-reserves; licensing mechanisms and processes; assessment of institutional copyright policies, open access initiatives and development of campus copyright awareness and education

- Certification that lasts two years, is renewable and is maintained by membership in the CIP Member Community
