MyCAA Provides Financial Assistance to Military Spouses
Military spouses deserve a high-quality education that leads to an in-demand career. What's more, they need a career path that's portable, so relocation never gets in the way of reaching their goals.
The Department of Defense's Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance to eligible military spouses for education and training in any University of Maryland University College (UMUC) associate's degree or certificate program, including*:
- Accounting
- Computer networking
- Project management
- And more—view all UMUC programs
The MyCAA financial assistance is not limited to these UMUC programs; if you have other education or training ideas, discuss with your Military OneSource Career and Education counselors.
*Most programs are offered online. Some may require on-site courses. Associate's degrees are available through UMUC Asia and UMUC Europe.
This program is available to spouses of active-duty servicemembers or activated Guard or Reserve members in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2 and O1-O2. Military spouses are required to finish their program of study within three years from the start date of the first course. There is a fiscal year cap of $2,000 (waivers may be available for spouses pursuing programs that require up-front tuition greater than $2,000).
