University of Maryland University College once again has been recognized for excellence by two leading publications serving the military community: Military Times and Military Advanced Education & Transition.
UMUC was ranked No. 1 in Military Times's Best Colleges 2018 among online and nontraditional schools. This is the second time in four years that UMUC has earned the top ranking by Military Times and the fourth year in a row the school has been ranked among the top 10. Rankings were based on evaluations in five categories: university culture, academic outcomes/quality, student support, academic policies, and cost and financial aid. Other factors were also considered, including accreditation, services for veterans, graduation rates, GI Bill gap coverage, and initiatives to support military spouses and families.
UMUC was also named a Top School in the MAE&T 2018 Guide to Colleges & Universities. Although MAE&T doesn't rank schools, only those that meet their rigorous criteria were named among the Top Schools. Institutions were evaluated on six categories: military culture; financial assistance; flexibility; general support; online support, and on-campus support.
UMUC has been proudly educating military servicemembers since 1947.
