Performance Artist Mitzi Sinnott

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King Jr., UMUC is offering a special presentation focusing on Dr. King's legacy.

Come hear performance artist and speaker Mitzi Sinnott offer reflections on Dr. King's book, Strength to Love, and what social justice looks like today. Her presentation will also explore what it means to work for the common good, how to live out Dr. King's legacy, and how to examine his mission on a personal level.

Mitzi Sinnott has been named one of the "Top 5 Best Diversity Speakers in America" by Campus Activities Magazine. A champion of authentic conversation, she is personally familiar with the complexities of racial identity, as well as mental illness and the legacy of war. Through her company, All Here Together Productions, she uses her expertise to convene conversations about race and class across industries and interests, building more tolerant communities, learning from the past, and reimagining the future, one story at a time. Her autobiographical one-woman show, SNAPSHOT: A True Story of Love Interrupted by Invasion, has been featured on PBS and presented on stage in South Africa, Scotland, and Sweden, as well as on campuses across America.

Don't miss this opportunity to examine and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
