Innovation Lessons from Industry: Applying Breakthrough Ideas in Higher Education
On March 25, 2015, the Center for Innovation in Learning and Student Success hosted distinguished guest Norman R. Augustine, retired chairman and CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation and member, University System of Maryland Board of Regents, for the spring 2015 Orkand Chair Distinguished Lecture Series. Augustine spoke on applying innovation lessons from industry to higher education. A question-and-answer session and reception followed the discussion.
The Orkand Chair was established through an endowment from Donald S. Orkand, founder of the Orkand Corporation and former chair of UMUC's Board of Visitors, to advance research and scholarship at UMUC by bringing scholars of national repute to serve at the UMUC Graduate School.
