Information About Employment

University of Maryland University College has a wide range of employment opportunities. Our vacancies are posted on a bulletin board outside of the Office of Human Resources, Room 312 University Center, located on Route 1. In addition, please visit our web site and click on employment on the sidebar menu. Vacancy announcements for all positions are posted as they occur. The announcement will provide details about the position, minimum qualifications and how to apply for the vacancy. Non-exempt Positions:

We recruit for a variety of non-exempt positions including Office Clerks, Accounting Clerks, Administrative positions, etc. All non-exempt positions are advertised and posted as the vacancies occur. If you are applying for a non-exempt position, you will be required to file an application for each position. You will also need to include the exact position title on the application. If the position you have applied for requires a typing test and/or skills set testing, you will need to contact the Office of Human Resources to schedule the test. Tests are administered Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm in room 312 University Center. To schedule a time for testing, please call 240-684-5559.

There is no limit to the number of positions you may apply for, but each position will require a separate application with an original signature. For your convenience, you can obtain a copy of the University of Maryland University College Employment Application from our office in Room 312 University Center.

Once a position you have applied for has been filled by another applicant your application will be immediately inactivated and sent to our archives.

Exempt Positions

Vacancy announcements for all exempt positions are posted as they occur. The announcement will provide details about the position, minimum qualifications and how to apply for the vacancy. The hiring department receives and reviews resumes, and makes the hiring decision. All applicants who are selected for interviews are required to complete an employment application. You should direct any questions you have about an exempt position to the hiring department.
