In order to be approved for graduation, students must have resolved any outstanding charges of fees or of misconduct and must have complied with the terms of any sanctions. The award of degrees and certificates is conditional upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements and compliance with all UMUC policies.
To graduate with a certificate, master's degree, or doctoral degree from The Graduate School, the student's record must demonstrate:
Successful completion of the required number of credit hours and other requirements as prescribed by the specific program curriculum.
A 3.0 cumulative GPA in all courses required for a single degree.
A 3.0 cumulative GPA in all courses required for a second degree earned as part of a dual degree program, if the student has chosen such a program.
A 3.0 cumulative GPA in all courses required for each degree individually and a
3.0 cumulative GPA for all courses required collectively for both degrees, if the student has chosen a dual degree program.
A 3.0 cumulative GPA in all courses required for a certificate, if the student has chosen a certificate program.
A 3.0 minimum GPA in all courses required for a doctoral degree.
Completion of all coursework within the time frame required by the specific program, as described in the Graduate Catalog.
