MyCAA Provides $6,000 in Financial
Assistance to Military Spouses
The Department of Defense (DOD) has temporarily suspended the MyCAA program, effective February 16, 2010, with the following provisions:
- Students whose funding has already been approved (who have received a FAID document) will receive funding for those courses approved.
- Students whose degree plan has been approved but have not received a FAID document for specific courses will not receive funding.
Students who do not have approved funding should review the alternative funding sources identified on the Military OneSource Web site or contact your UMUC financial aid office.

Military spouses deserve a high-quality education that leads to an in-demand career. What's more, they need a career path that's portable, so relocation never gets in the way of reaching their goals.
Now, the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program is providing $6,000 for education and training in any University of Maryland University College (UMUC) program, including*:
- Business and management
- Education
- Financial services

- Information technology
- And more—view all UMUC programs
The MyCAA $6,000 in financial assistance is not limited to these UMUC programs; if you have other education or training ideas, discuss with your Military One Stop representative.
* Most programs are offered online. Some programs may only be offered at certain UMUC campuses.
To be eligible for the MyCAA $6,000 in financial assistance, you must be the spouse of an active duty or activated Guard or Reserve servicemember.
