A: See Linked Associate's to Bachelor's Degree Programs

Q: How many credits may I transfer to UMUC?

A: UMUC accepts up to 90 credits in transfer from all collegiate schools attended including applicable military credit. Students transferring from a Maryland community college may transfer up to 70 credit hours of applicable credit towards a bachelor's degree. Students are encouraged to complete an associate's degree at their community college and speak with a UMUC representative at their community college campus.

Q: Do I need to ask Harford CC to send academic transcripts to UMUC?

A: Yes. If you are admitted to the alliance, send an official Harford CC transcript to UMUC for the purpose of advising or transfer evaluation. If you have your associate’s degree, you may be eligible for the Maryland Community College Scholarship.

Q: Who do I see for academic advising?

A:

Your Harford CC academic advisor can help you select the most appropriate classes to complete your associate's degree and to transfer to UMUC.

A UMUC representative visits HCC regularly. Contact the HCC advising office to schedule an appointment.

Q: If I am currently enrolled at UMUC, may I take additional courses from Harford CC through the alliance?

A: Whether you may take additional courses from Harford CC through the Alliance will depend on the number of credits originally transferred to UMUC from a community college. Check with a UMUC advisor before deciding to return to Harford CC for additional credit.

Q: Which school will be awarding my degree?
