| A: | You must complete the online application at www.umuc.edu/admissions. No SAT or ACT is required for admission. UMUC academic requirements for admission are:

| Q: | How many credits may I transfer to UMUC? |
| A: | From your community college, up to 70 credits with receipt of your associate’s degree. Other credit limits include:

| Q: | Do I need to ask my community college to send academic transcripts to UMUC? |
| A: | Yes. If you are admitted to UMUC, you should have your transcript sent from your community college for the purpose of transfer evaluation and advising. |
| Q: | Must I complete my associate’s degree before enrolling at UMUC? |
| A: | No but, it may be to your advantage to complete your associate’s degree at your community college first. Community college graduates have found the associate’s degree to be useful in obtaining jobs or promotions while continuing to pursue a bachelor’s degree. |
| Q: | Can I earn credit for prior learning? |
| A: | Yes. Community college transfer students have the opportunity to earn credit for college-level learning gained through life and work experience. For information about this program contact UMUC’s Prior Learning office at 800-888-UMUC (8682) ext 2860. |
| Q: | If I am currently enrolled at UMUC, may I take additional courses from my community college? |
| A: | Whether you can take additional courses from a community college will depend on the number of credits originally transferred to UMUC from a community college. |

| Q: | When can I begin taking courses at UMUC? |
| A: | UMUC offers five different start dates for online study, so students can start at almost anytime of the year. |
| Q: | What degrees are available to me online? |
| A: | 21 of UMUC’s 32 degrees are available fully online, as well as 28 minors and 30 undergraduate certificates. They are listed at http://www.umuc.edu/prog/ugp/ugp_de.shtml |
| Q: | How do I complete an online course? |
| A: | To take courses online, you need an internet connection, an e-mail account, virus protection software, and an up to date web browser. You can experience online study by accessing the self paced online orientation to Web Tycho, UMUC’s course delivery system, at http://webtycho.umuc.edu. |

| A: | A full array of services is available to online students including: 24/7 technical support, advising, registration, admission, financial aid, library assistance, tutors, clubs and honor societies. |
