Accelerated Classes

Earn Your Degree Faster

If you live or work near one of UMUC’s convenient classroom locations, you may be able to expedite your path to a degree by taking accelerated classes offered in Session 1 and Session 2.

Accelerated classes run half as long as the standard term—just six or seven weeks—and are available at many UMUC locations. Plus, most classes are held on weekday evenings to allow you to complete assignments over the weekend.

For example, after you have completed your lower-level study at a Maryland community college, you can meet all the remaining requirements for the major in business administration by taking accelerated classes at the following locations:

• College Park/Adelphi
• Dorsey Station
• Shady Grove
• Waldorf Center

Students taking accelerated classes should still follow the recommended course sequence on the Degree Planning Worksheet. A Degree Planning Worksheet for each major can be found at www.umuc.edu/worksheets.
