Information Security

The information security certificate program is designed to help computer network and IT professionals improve their security knowledge base and/or practitioner experience. Students examine the scope of catastrophic damages that terrorist attacks to information systems could cause and learn ways of protecting this critical information infrastructure and the services it provides. Causes, limitations, and implications of cyber-terrorism and computer crime are addressed in the context of organizations and in the environment of e-commerce. Students must complete six courses (four required and two elective) for a total of 18 semester hours to earn the certificate.
