Program Description

Today’s leaders require a sophisticated level of knowledge and analysis to successfully guide their organizations in a rapidly changing global environment., UMUC's Doctor of Management program will provide you with the credentials and ability you need to rise to a significant leadership role in public and private organizations worldwide.

Program Highlights

With an emphasis on the practical application of concepts, research, and knowledge to real world management issues, students are prepared in areas such as: leadership, management theory and practice, strategy formulation and execution, operational planning, technology acquisition, organizational and behavioral processes, assessment, and global operations.

Program Rules and Requirements

  • Students must complete a minimum of 48 credits of coursework, the dissertation, and required comprehensive exams.
  • No transfer credits are accepted.

While the majority of coursework is completed online, students must also participate in some mandatory residencies—onsite course meetings—at the UMUC headquarters in Adelphi, Maryland.  For the convenience of students, these residencies, or in-person meetings, are generally scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.
