The certificate in negotiation and conflict management provides an interdisciplinary perspective on group dynamics, problem solving, team building and communication strategies that can lead to the effective resolution of conflicts. Grounded primarily in communication theory, the program allows students to emphasize aspects related to psychology, human resources or business management. The certificate provides knowledge and skills that are relevant to careers in criminal justice, social services and education, as well as human resource management (especially for trainers and facilitators in team building and organizational development). The certificate in negotiation and conflict management is therefore appropriate for students in business, human resource management, criminal justice, social science, psychology, education, communication studies, government relations, political science and related fields.
