Biography

Karah Mercer joined UMUC as an Enrollment Specialist in December 2007 and since then has moved on to be the Coordinator of Administration for the executive administrative unit of OEM.  Shortly after joining UMUC, she graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Along with psychology, some of her other interests include higher education and learning about different cultures. With these interests, she has traveled to Guatemala, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Karah has been with UMUC almost three years and her knowledge and passion for helping students and co - workers makes her a fine candidate. Karah currently sits on the Adelphi Staff Advisory Council (ASAC) and will be completing her first full term this October. In her two years of service, she has committed to being the vice chair of the constitution and bylaws committee ensuring that the bylaws of the council are appropriate and effective. She has also sat on the special projects committee assisting with events such as the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program and Take your Daughters and Sons to Work day. Karah has truly enjoyed her term and hopes to be re-elected for another term so that she can continue to be a part of making positive changes for the staff at UMUC.
