Nomination Essay

I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Johnson for a little over a year, and I am continually amazed at the level of dedication and professionalism that he exhibits every day. He remains committed to providing students with impeccable customer service, often times going far above the call of duty to provide them with the information and resources that assist them in their academic pursuits. His knowledge of UMUC policies, procedures, and curricula is unmatched, and he continues to strive to enhance this knowledge. Not only is he most helpful to students, but he has made several innovations that assist his fellow advisors, most notably, a CD-ROM entitled “The Advisor’s Buddy,” that has become an essential must-have item in our advising arsenal. The innovations he has implemented in our workplace, large and small, have greatly improved our ability, as advisors, to better meet our student’s needs.

I believe Mr. Johnson would be a great asset to the Staff Advisory Council and would be a very worthy representative of our staff.
