Vandalism to Vehicles / Theft of Property

Between 12:00pm – 12:55pm

Adelphi Parking Garage

Brief Details:

On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, two vehicles were damaged while parked in the Adelphi Parking garage. Windows were broken and a briefcase was stolen from one of the vehicles.

Please remember that motor vehicles are vulnerable, anywhere, when left parked and unattended.  We all must work together and help reduce these crimes by doing the following: Close windows and lock all doors; keep valuables out of sight (e.g., in trunks, glove compartments, under seats, etc.); utilize anti-theft devices when possible (e.g., alarms, steering wheel locks, ignition kill switches, etc.). Most thieves are opportunist and will target the most vulnerable vehicle.

Always report suspicious people and/or activity to security (Largo – ext. 2-2911 and Adelphi – ext. 1-7371). Suspicious activity in and around parking lots would include:  Individuals looking into parked vehicles; individuals sitting in parked vehicles for extended periods of time; individuals carrying tools (e.g., screwdrivers, dent pullers, etc.); and individuals who appear as if they locked their keys inside a vehicle.

Crime prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Report suspicious activity to security and the police immediately.
