What is considered full-time and part-time?
Full-time students must enroll in at least 12 credits hours at UMUC each fall and spring semesters and earn at least 30 credit hours per academic year. Part-time students must enroll in at least 6 credit hours at UMUC each fall and spring semesters and earn at least 15 credits hours per academic year. Students will need to take additional credits above the minimum stated credit requirements during the fall, winter, summer and spring semesters in order to maintain scholarship eligibility.
I would like to change my enrollment status from part-time to full-time or full- time to part-time but my award has been disbursed. Will my scholarship be affected?
Yes, by changing your enrollment status, you may incur a balance due to the difference in tuition and fees accrued. For more information, contact the scholarship coordinator at ccsp@umuc.edu.
I would like to take classes at another institution while still enrolled at UMUC. Will my scholarship be affected?
Students who wish to take classes at an outside institution must first gain permission from their advisor. Classes taken outside of UMUC may apply to your degree requirements but will not be used as part of the minimum credit requirement for the scholarship.
If I enroll in EXCL301, do I still need to take another 3-credit course during the same semester?
Part-time Community College Transfer Scholarship recipients must enroll in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, so another 3-credit course is required in order to maintain your scholarship requirements. Those students who are receiving the Full-Time Community College Transfer Scholarship are required to enroll in at least 12 credits each semester. EXCL301 is a 3-credit course.
