UMUC Community College Transfer Scholarships

To make your transition to a four-year institution even easier, UMUC's Community College Transfer Scholarships provide you with the extra boost you need to continue your education and achieve your goals. Opportunities exist for students transferring to UMUC from participating in-state and out-of-state community and technical colleges.

The following scholarships are available:

Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarship

  • Must have earned an associate's degree from eligible Maryland Community Colleges
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Out-of-State Community College Transfer Scholarship

  • An associate's degree earned by the beginning of the semester you wish to begin at UMUC.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA from one of the participating community colleges.
  • Submission of the UMUC online admission application and scholarship application.
  • Applicants cannot receive full tuition remission from the University System of Maryland or another agency.
  • Must be pursuing a first bachelor's degree.

Community College Staff Scholarship

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA from all previous institutions; must maintain a 3.0 GPA at UMUC.
  • Must be a full-time community college staff member from an Alliance school who is not receiving 100-percent tuition remission.
  • Must be a new student pursuing a first-time bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
  • Must be a citizen or U.S.-eligible non-citizen.
  • Must enroll in at least 6 credits per fall and spring semester at UMUC.

Dual Enrollment Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in an associate's degree program at a community college.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA from previous community college coursework.
  • Must apply for admission to UMUC.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 3 credits at UMUC and 3 credits at your community college for the semesters you are receiving the scholarship.
  • Applicants cannot receive full tuition remission from the University System of Maryland or another agency.

Shady Grove Scholarship

  • For new transfer students from Montgomery College interested in completing coursework at Shady Grove each semester
  • Associate's degree earned from a Montgomery College
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from transfer institution; must maintain 3.0 GPA at UMUC

Nan Lee Roberts Reverse Transfer Scholarship

  • Must have transferred to UMUC from a Maryland community college
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA at UMUC
  • Be a participant in the Reverse Transfer program
