When to Pay
UMUC tuition and fees are due in full at the time of registration unless you're enrolled in our interest-free monthly payment plan or receiving financial aid or employer tuition assistance.
Pay When You Register
If you register by mail, fax, or in person, payment must accompany your registration. If you register online, payment is due with your registration or must be mailed the day of registration.
A brief grace period is granted to allow time for payment to be delivered by mail. If payment for your online registration is not received by the end of the grace period, your registration may be canceled (unless you are receiving financial aid, employer tuition assistance, or have enrolled in our monthly payment plan).
Not paying for a course does not relieve you of your financial obligation to the university.
Refunds and Withdrawing From Class
Registering for a class obligates you to pay for it. If, for any reason, you are unable to take a class, please officially withdraw from the class and view UMUC's refund policies to ensure a 100% credit. Refunds for drops and withdrawals are prorated, depending on the number of days that have passed since the class start date.

Grace Periods & Payment Deadlines
- If you register 10 or more days before the course start date, your grace period ends 10 days after your registration date.
If you register less than 10 days before course start date, your grace period ends 2 days after your registration date.
