Credit for Industry Standard Certifications

UMUC accepts several industry-standard certification examinations for college credit. Students should arrange to take the examination through the organization awarding the certificate. Documentation of the certification must be submitted within 5 years of taking the examination. Credits earned through these examinations are lower level and will not satisfy upper-level minimum requirements even if the course equivalency listed is for an upper-level course. Use of credits in the degree is subject to limits on level and type of credit.
