About the UMUC SHRM Chapter
The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) SHRM Chapter (5578) formed in January 2007, and is sponsored by the Montgomery County SHRM Chapter and the Human Resource Society of Prince George's County (HRSPGC). The UMUC SHRM Chapter has a faculty advisor and a slate of student officers, composed of graduate and undergraduate students.
The UMUC SHRM Chapter strives to grow SHRM membership while becoming an invaluable resource in enhancing the professional careers of members, by remaining actively committed to excellence and diversity, and encouraging individuals to reach their greatest potential through personal and professional learning and service opportunities.
The UMUC SHRM Chapter also has a space within the online Human Resource Management Club (HRMN900) for resources, announcements and information. All members have access to this club via WebTycho.
You may also contact the UMUC SHRM Chapter via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The chapter organizes local events for members at UMUC headquarters in Adelphi. Events are held almost every month and include guest speakers, activities and discussions on current HR topics. Members are welcome to recommend topics of interest for the events. Students are also given the opportunity to network during the UMUC SHRM Chapter meetings with local HR professionals. Our out-of-town members have an opportunity to participate in the meetings remotely.
