Rebekah Tervin – 2013 Student Advisory Council Representative, Stateside

I am 25 years old and currently working at a government contracting firm in the DC area as the Information Assurance Manager. I am a veteran of the US Army and served in support of OIF and OEF. I grew up in Arkansas, but moved to Florida when I turned 16 and had just graduated high school. Yes, I did graduate early. While I was in college, I decided to join the Army where I continued on until last January when I took a civilian job. I am now pursuing my bachelors after graduating with my AS in May. I have no children and I live with my roommate and our animals. I also volunteer with Big Brother Big Sisters and have a “Little” that I have been working with for eight months. Once I took the civilian job, I could not bear to separate entirely from the military, so I joined the DC National Guard. I am currently the S6 NCOIC. Between being a full time student, working full time, military obligations, and volunteering, I still find time to ride horses and prepare for jumping competitions.
