You are eligible to register by phone via the Interactive Registration and Information System (IRIS) if you have already been admitted to UMUC. If you are an undergraduate student and two years have passed since your last enrollment, you will need to apply for readmission. Through IRIS, you may register by entering all pertinent information via your touch-tone telephone. IRIS will provide immediate feedback on course availability and your registration.

Please note: Students from other institutions of the University System of Maryland are not eligible to register by telephone.

IRIS will repeat the main menu options and prompt you for information when you call. To ensure that you are registered for the courses you want, you must complete each transaction. Don’t hang up too soon. Be patient and listen carefully to the voice prompts. If you have questions, call 800-888-UMUC (8682).
