It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Whether you're just beginning a college career or have already completed a large number of credits elsewhere, you may earn a bachelor's degree from UMUC. In fact, you may find that you're closer to a degree than you think.

Select a Major |
|---|---|
| You may choose your major from 29 academic disciplines, including 36 minors. If you are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree online, you may choose from any of 21 majors. If you are undecided, our advisors can offer suggestions based on your previous coursework and career interests. | |
STEP 2 |
Review Your Degree Requirements |
| At UMUC you can pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Technical and Professional Studies (BTPS) degree. All bachelor's degrees require 120 semester hours of credit. The academic major requires 30 to 38 semester hours of credit, while the minor (optional) requires 15 to 19 semester hours. Information on degree requirements for each major is available online in our Curriculum Planning Worksheets. | |

During Your First Semester: Request
Official Transcripts be Sent to UMUC |
|
To access information about degree progress, you need to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended, including other institutions of the University System of Maryland, whether or not transfer credit is requested and/or granted. You are responsible for submitting all pertinent academic documents (such as academic transcripts, confirmation of credit conferred by examination, or records of credit from military services schools). To be considered official, documents must be sent directly from the issuer to UMUC. Complete the online Transcript Request Form within MyUMUC. Note: Students receiving financial aid must provide official documents and request an official evaluation during the first period of enrollment and study at UMUC. |
