Giving

University of Maryland University College is committed to making a college education accessible to all students regardless of their financial circumstances.  Your  gift will have a profound impact on current and future students.    In order to help achieve our mission, UMUC depends on generous donations from a wide variety of sources for student scholarship initiatives.  As we look to the future, UMUC must  strengthen revenue from fundraising efforts in order to provide our student base with a robust array of scholarship opportunities. Our vision is our goal, and we need help to make those goals a reality.

Every gift matters, and your support will provide a meaningful impact for UMUC students.

Find the giving option that best suits you.

Outright Gifts

Outright gifts are the most simple and frequently used method of giving. Contribute by personal check; by cash in the form of currency, money orders or bank drafts; or online with your Visa, MasterCard or American Express card.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

By joining UMUC's monthly giving program, your contribution can be automatically deducted from your bank account on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Each deduction will be reflected on your bank statement. If you are interested, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Pledges

You may make a long-term pledge to establish a major gift, such as an endowed scholarship, a memorial fund to honor a loved one or a fund for an important university priority. This option allows you to make a more significant gift that will have a greater impact.

Gift Planning

Gift Planning includes charitable reminder trusts, gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, bequests or gifts of other assets supporting UMUC programs. You can also make UMUC part of your estate planning. Planning giving fits your financial needs while also helping support UMUC.

Stock certificates may be delivered to the University System of Maryland Foundation, Inc. (and earmarked for UMUC) or electronically transferred to the Foundation by your broker. Gifts from securities are an easy way to benefit from double tax savings: full deductibility on the fair market value of the gift, plus no capital gains on tax on the appreciation of the shares contributed. Double or Triple the Impact of your Gift

Today, there are more than 1,000 companies that have matching gift programs for employees, family members and often retirees. Participating companies match funds according to different ratios—dollar for dollar is standard; some are higher. Each company has its own matching gift form with its own procedures to follow.
