Impatica for PowerPoint—Downloading and Installing

Downloading and Installing: Faculty and Staff

Faculty can find download and installation instructions in the Faculty Center in the WebTycho classroom. Click the "Impatica for PowerPoint" link at the top of the page, as shown below:

Staff who do not have access to the Faculty Center can contact WebTycho support for assistance. Contact infomation (phone, e-mail, chat) is available from http://tychousa.umuc.edu/wtdocs/wthelp/index.html.

Downloading and Installing: Students

Students can purchase Impatica at a discounted price of US$24.95. Purchases can be made online by Visa or Mastercard. Once purchased, a link is provided to download the software directly from Impatica's Web site. Purchases are limited to UMUC students only.

UMUC-Adelphi Students | UMUC-Asia and UMUC-Europe Students

UMUC-ADELPHI STUDENTS

  1. First, you must acquire a polaris.umuc.edu e-mail address. All students who register for classes at UMUC-Adelphi may obtain a free "Polaris" account for e-mail and Web storage space. Your Polaris e-mail address must be used in order to obtain the Impatica software.
    To set up your Polaris account, follow the instructions on the WebTycho Help and Support Site: Polaris/Nova.

  2. When you have a Polaris account, go to Impatica's UMUC Purchasing Site. Make sure that you type your Polaris e-mail address in the Email Address box. Your Polaris e-mail address is your Polaris username plus @polaris.umuc.edu (e.g., msmith4@polaris.umuc.edu).

  3. When you run Impatica for the first time, click the Registration Code button. Make sure that you enter your Name, Organization Code, and Registration Code exactly as provided by Impatica, respecting case values, spacing, and punctuation.

UMUC-ASIA and UMUC-EUROPE STUDENTS

  1. Students who register for classes in Europe or Asia do not have access to Polaris accounts or e-mail addresses. They may still purchase the Impatica software with individual authorization from Impatica. This can be obtained by sending an e-mail containing the student's name, instructor's name, and course number (for example: "Jane Doe, Dr. John Smith, ENGL 101") to UMUC@impatica.com.

  2. An e-mail reply will be sent from Impatica once the authorization has been granted (within 1 business day).When you receive the e-mail reply, you can purchase the software. Go to Impatica's UMUC Purchasing Site and follow the instructions.

  3. When you run Impatica for the first time, click the Registration Code button. Make sure that you enter your Name, Organization Code, and Registration Code exactly as provided by Impatica, respecting case values, spacing, and punctuation.
