UMUC Computing Facilities Guide
UMUC’s computer facilities are located on the Adelphi campus, as well as other UMUC regional locations throughout Maryland. All open-access computing facilities are accessible to all student, faculty, staff and alumni with a valid UMUC identification card or current paid tuition bill. Printing is available at our Adelphi and Dorsey Station campuses on a pay-as-you-print service. (Cards are available for purchase and can be used at both locations.) Click here for more information on the service.
All Labs
All computing labs are equipped with "multimedia ready" PCs using Microsoft-based operating systems, currently Windows XP, Microsoft Office products, access to the Internet, among other course-related and non-related software. Click here for a list of available software. Removable media, such as USB drives, CD-R/RW discs, or floppy disks, are highly suggested for use in our computing labs and provided by the student. Headphones, if needed for a course, are also provided by the student.
Open-Access Labs
Lab assistants are available for technical assistance and other general questions, like printing, WebTycho, etc. For tutoring assistance, please visit http://www.umuc.edu/prog/ugp/tutoring.shtml. Headphones, USB drives, CDs and floppy disks are the responsibility of the student. UMUC is not responsible for lost or corrupted files, since it is suggested that all data should be stored on removable media.
