UMUC
Outlook Web Access
webmail.umuc.edu
Once you have been migrated to Exchange/Outlook,
you can connect and access your UMUC mailbox using Outlook Web Access (OWA).
IMPORTANT & WARNING
Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is recommended for Outlook Web Access.
Other browsers will work, but may not display all functions of OWA.
If you have pop-up blockers such as the AOL, Google, or Yahoo
toolbars, make sure that they do not block UMUC site.
Outlook Web Access has no advertisement pop-up, but does use "pop-up"
method to open a new window when you compose an email message. Be sure
the settings in your Google/Yahoo or similar toolbar won't block actions
relating to umuc webmail.
AOL toolbar issue -- we have confirmed that the AOL browser
toolbar will prevent UMUC Webmail log on.
If you use the AOL browser toolbar installed and try to log on to
webmail, you may see a blank screen and not be able to proceed further.
Uninstalling the toolbar will resolve this problem (the other AOL
applications are not affected).
Connecting to your Exchange mailbox via Outlook Web Access:

*note: You’ll notice that the http://webmail.umuc.edu address has changed from http to https and the padlock symbol at the lower bottom panel of your web browser.

Unlike before Outlook Web Access provides a secured connection to your mailbox utilizing SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
*note: SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a protocol designed to enable encrypted, authenticated communications across the Internet. SSL encrypts the channel between web browser and web server so only the intended parties can read certain data, such as payment or credit card information, while preventing others from capturing, viewing or modifying the data being exchanged.

*note: your password is case sensitive.
