The first reason I would give to any prospective student who is looking at UMUC as a reason to come here, or a big benefit, is the flexibility. That was the main reason that I started attending the school, the capability to be able to take an online class and know that you’re going to have support if it’s your first time, or even if you’re coming back and taking online classes, is immeasurable. I’m the type of person where I could stay up all night reading and get my work done and that really worked for me, knowing that I was not going to be rushed to get to a physical location, knowing that I was not going to be constricted by time to sit in the classroom and get things done. It worked out well in terms of being able to not have to look for a babysitter or being able to have my husband and my children help me. It made it fun for the family. So I knew that no matter what time of day I was going to be able to give to the course, it was on my terms. I wasn’t restricted, I wasn’t rushed, and that’s a huge benefit.
