When you are visiting Washington, D.C., the United States Capital, there are many exciting things to do and see. Stay for Independence Day (July 4, 2008) in Washington, D.C.!
There is no better place than Washington, D.C. to celebrate Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July. This federal holiday celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Cities and towns all over the country celebrate with fireworks, parades, and picnics. In the country’s capital you can experience the biggest celebration of them all! Visit the National Mall to join in the fun with talented performances, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, great food, and an amazing fireworks display.

Historic Annapolis, only 35 miles from Washington, D.C., is the State Capital of Maryland and home to the U.S. Naval Academy. Annapolis is known as "America’s Sailing Capital" because of its location near the Chesapeake Bay and the popularity of boating and water sports.
