| Module 1: Using the Web to Design Online
Courses Introduction
This module provides information about the selection and use of Web-based media, such
as text, audio, video, still images, animated graphics, applets, and scripts, to
accomplish a number of different learning strategies. The object of this module is to
assist faculty in creating and using Web-based media in ways that are appropriate for
their students' learning experiences.
You can navigate Module 1 in three ways:
- To look at examples of how teachers from a range of disciplines have integrated
Web-based media in their teaching and associate those examples with particular
teaching/learning strategies, follow the Teaching/Learning
Activities link above.
- To go directly to explanations of the technologies, with examples of each, follow the Technologies link above.
- To see a list of all examples organized by author, field, and technology, click on the Index button at the top of any page.
We are interested in receiving your evaluation of this resource and learning about
other exemplary uses of technology in Web-based instruction. If you have comments,
questions, or examples, please contact us by clicking on the Feedback
button at the top of any page.
This project is a joint initiative of the Center for the Virtual University and the Center for Teaching and Learning
at UMUC.
