Welcome to UMUC Arts!

Art Gallery at UMUC Inn and Conference Center
Will Be Closed for Renovation through October 2013

Dear Art Patrons,

Beginning June 5 through mid-October 2013, the UMUC Art Gallery located in the Inn and Conference Center (ICC) on the Adelphi campus will be closed due to renovations. The houses the Selma Oppenheimer, Herman Maril and Gladys Goldstein permanent collections.

In addition, The Leroy Merritt Center for the Art of Joseph Sheppard will be available by appointment only.  Please contact the Arts Program office at 301-985-7937 to arrange your tour.

During the renovation period, you may enjoy selected works from UMUC’s permanent collection on the main level of the ICC and the Asian Art Collection on the third floor. You can enter the ICC through the main entrance near the visitor-parking garage and take the elevator at the eastern end of the building to the third floor. These spaces will be open to the public Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please stay tuned as we unveil our new look when we reopen to the public in Fall 2013 with the "2nd Biennial Maryland Juried Art Exhibition."

Thank you,

The Arts Program Staff

For nearly three decades, UMUC has been cultivating and growing two impressive, permanent art collections: The Maryland Artist Collection and the Asian Collection, on display at the UMUC Inn and Conference Center. We invite you to attend these ongoing exhibits to experience one of the largest collections of art by Maryland artists and to see up close the artistic wonders brought from the Far East.

In addition to viewing the permanent collections, there are numerous other ways for you to appreciate the arts at UMUC. You can attend art openings and featured exhibits, receive the Art@UMUC newsletter, hear from special guests, and become a friend through the Friends of the Arts program.

Visit this site often to keep informed of current and upcoming events. We hope that you will join us throughout the year and for years to come.
