Join the UMUC community for Noi Volkov: Reforming the Masters. Unleashing the Humor in Art! This exhibition includes approximately 30 ceramic artworks and several works on canvas by Noi Volkov. They convey his creativity and steadfast tenacity, which prevailed despite oppression by the Soviet Union.

Volkov was born in Agapovka, Russia, and grew up during the Soviet regime. He graduated from the Grekov School of the Arts in Odessa and the Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design in Leningrad. He lived as a nonconformist artist in Odessa until 1989, when he was able to move to the United States with his family. He now resides in Owings Mills, Maryland, and participates in various art shows. His work is represented in galleries in the United Sates such as the del Mano Gallery in Los Angeles, California, and International Images, ltd., in Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
