The waters swim in us

Dan Vera

Siphon the meaning in this:

that salt in the ocean
is the same percentage
of the salt in our bodies.

The sea surges through us
our limbs
and torsos
by pressured vessels
through our spidery veins

to the nautilus of the brain
where it rides the hippocampus
where memory resides and flows
the hippocampus named for its shape
a tiny seahorse in the center of this thought.
