University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers student services at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (NMMC) in Bethesda. This site is on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA Release Form may be required.

Directions and Parking
Take the Beltway (I-495) to Exit 34 south (Route 355, Wisconsin Avenue) toward Bethesda and Washington, D.C. Use the main hospital entrance across from the Medical Center Metro Stop on Wisconsin Avenue. Follow South Wood Road to Palmer Road South - turn right. Travel pass Main Hospital Entrance/Building 10 - turn left on Brown Drive. Travel pass parking garages and at the stop sign - go straight towards Parking Lot Q or turn right to proceed to Parking Lot J. The UMUC office is in Building 17, Room 2205.

Scheduled advising appointments are available during office hours. Call 301-654-1377 to schedule an appointment.
Library Services
At the Academic Center at Largo, UMUC librarians are available Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Room 1105. UMUC staff members are also available during selected hours at McKeldin Library at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) campus. At either location, you can access the online catalog of the University System of Maryland (USM), more than 100 databases (over 50 of which provide full text journal and newspaper articles), and tutorials on how to do research. Other Important Information
Security and Civilian Waiver Information. If you do not have a military ID, call 301-654-1377 on Tuesdays and Thursdays for information on base entry. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online.
