University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers student services at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (NMMC) in Bethesda. This site is on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA waiver form may be required.
Take the Beltway (I-495) to Exit 34 South (Route 355, Wisconsin Avenue) toward Bethesda and Washington, D.C. Use the main hospital entrance across from the Medical Center Metro Stop on Wisconsin Avenue. Follow South Wood Road to Palmer Road South, turn right. Travel past Main Hospital Entrance/Building 10, and turn left onto Brown Drive. Travel past the parking garages and at the stop sign, turn right on Taylor Road. The UMUC office is in Building 17, Room 2205. Parking is limited to patients, staff, and contractors. To park at Bethesda, a parking hang tag is required. It is suggested visitors use the Metro to the Medical Center Station. For more information, please visit the base web site.

This location offers the following types of testing services for members of the military and the civilian community with base access:
- Placement testing for writing and math courses on a walk-in basis.
- Proctoring services for non-UMUC students.

This site is located on a military installation. Proper military ID is required for base access. Visitors who do not have a military ID must go to the Pass Office. Access is only granted to visitors if they have been given authority by the Pass Office. Those with military IDs are allowed to bring guests on base; guests must present a valid photo ID.
Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act permitting UMUC to provide personal information (such as Social Security Number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration.
